Your search results are sorted by "Relevance", but you can change that to "Date" or to "Title".

Citation Information

Each item includes its bibliographic information--this is the information you will need for your citation.
Book Information

 


Location

The "Location" tells you the general section where you will find the item. Common locations include:

  • Stacks: The Library's General Collections.
  • Media: The Fiction & Non-Fiction films, typically in DVD format.
  • Online Resources: Electronic items you may access via the Internet.
  • Reserve: Books & videos that you'll need to ask for at the "Check-Out" desk.
  • Reference: Books that are not kept behind the "Check-Out" desk, but that cannot leave the Library.

Call #

The Call # is the item's "address" in the Library. You'll want to write down the complete call number so that you can find it on the shelf. Please note: "Online Resources" do not have call numbers listed.

Status

The "Status" lets you know whether (& how) the item is currently available. It's common to find the following statuses listed:

  • Available: The item is at the Library & available for you to borrow.
    • Recently Returned: The item is Available, but may not be shelved yet. Ask at the front desk.
    • Recently Cataloged: The item is Available, but may not be shelved yet. Ask at the front desk.
  • Due...: Another Cincinnati State person has borrowed this item. See the tabs at the left for additional borrowing options.
    • Due...Off Campus: An OhioLINK patron has borrowed this item.
    • Due...BILLED: The borrower has not returned this item. See additional borrowing options at the left.
  • LIB USE ONLY: The item is either a Reference item or a non-fiction video that you may retrieve from the shelf & use in the Library.
  • Ask at Desk: The item is a Course Reserve that a Library staff person must retrieve for you.
  • Click Link: The item is an Online Resource that can be accessed via the Internet. You will need to click on the Title to connect to the resource online (see example at the bottom of this page).
  • Missing: The item is unable to be located. See the tabs at the left for additional borrowing options.

Click the item's TITLE to view its item record. This will give you more information about it & will provide you with additional borrowing options. Follow the tabs at the left for information about additional borrowing options.

Online Resources

After clicking the title of an "Online Resource", you will need to click the "Connect to electronic resource" link, pictured below. If you are working from off-campus, you will typically need to enter your name & 7 digit College Id to access the electronic content.
